Three Cases of Sino-Auricular Block
نویسنده
چکیده
physiological condition in which there is rhythmical variation in the heart-rate due to vagal influences at the pace-maker. The variation may be dependent on the respiration, the rate waxing with inspiration, waning with expiration, or it may be unrelated to breathing. The condition is well marked in children and athletes of great stamina. It is common in the latter to find a pulse-rate of 44 to 50 per minute when in training, and for this rate to double itself abruptly

Premature Systoles Originating in the Sino-auricular Node.
Premature systoles arising in the sino-auricular node are characterized in the electrocardiogram by premature P waves that are identical in contour with other sinus P waves and by the absence of a prolongation of the returning cycle. Actually the returning cycle may be shorter than the normal cycle because of prolonged sino-auricular conduction of the premature beat (Wenckebach, 1908). Accordin...
متن کاملSino-auricular block, interference dissociation, and different recovery rates of excitation in the bundle branches.
Disturbances in the propagation of the heart beat between the auricle and the two ventricles are of frequent occurrence and well known under the terms A-V dissociation or heart block. The term sinoauricular block is the standard name for an apparent block between the sinus node and the auricle, a hypothetical incident to explain transient auricular standstill for a period of time that is a mult...

The mammalian sino-atrial node is not a uniform tissue in histological and electrophysiological terms. The differences in ionic currents underlying the regional differences in electrial activity are only just beginning to be understood. One of the ionic currents it is thought to play a role in the center of sino-atrial node for action potential upstroke should be transient Ca+2 current ...

INTRODUCTION SICK SINUS SYNDROME The sinus node is composed of a collection of specialised pacemaker cells embedded in a fibrous matrix that lies in the sulcus terminalis between the superior vena cava and the right atrial appendage. The sinus node serves as the primary cardiac pacemaker and controls the heart rate in normal individuals. Recent research indicates, that the sinus node is a heter...
